Nation RoofingRoofing Contractor in Mountains Edge, Las Vegas
Mountains Edge is one of the newest large communities in the valley, on the exposed southwest rim where wind and blown grit do more work than age does.
Permitting jurisdiction: Clark County Building and Fire Prevention
Wind and abrasion, not age
These roofs are young. What wears them is the southwest exposure: sustained wind carrying desert grit that abrades coatings, sealant and exposed flashing edges faster than a sheltered central valley roof would see.
Builder era details worth checking
Communities built in a single fast phase share their installation details, good and bad. Where a particular flashing or vent detail was done to the minimum, it tends to show up across many homes at a similar age. If your neighbor had a leak at a specific spot, yours is worth checking at the same spot.
Skylights and solar tubes
A lot of Mountains Edge homes were built or retrofitted with skylights and tubular daylighting. Those units have their own flashing and their own service life, and they are a common leak source on otherwise healthy young roofs.
Permitted through Clark County
Mountains Edge is unincorporated, so permits go through Clark County Building and Fire Prevention.
